Gordon Lightfoot is NOT dead

Reports indicate that Gord Lightfoot is alive and well.

This after a number of national papers including National Post and other Canwest newspaper websites as well as the Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette and Calgary Herald erroneously reported that Lightfoot was dead today.

"The rumour, which was first attributed to musician and friend Ronnie Hawkins, said that the 71-year-old singer had died. But Lightfoot's management said that the singer was fine and that they had spoken to the singer a little after 2:00 p.m. ET," states an articly by Ron Nurwisah for the National Post.

The Post notes that Bernie Fiedler, Mr. Lightfoot's concert promoter, says the issue was an Internet hoax started by someone in the Ottawa area and posted on Twitter.
