The students and staff of Mother St. Bride School are asking members of the community to bring all unwanted plastic milk bags to the school’s front office as part of its ongoing Haiti relief efforts. The bags will be used to make bed mats for children and adults who have been displaced by the earthquake.

At a school prayer service for Haiti hosted by Mrs. Leblanc’s Grade ¾ class on Thursday, educational assistant Mrs. Sullivan challenged the school to collect 10,000 bags
and demonstrated how 300 bags are needed to make one child size bed mat and 600 are needed for an adult size.

In addition to collecting bed mats, the school is also raising funds for Haiti. So far, MSB has raised $750.00 thanks to student and staff participation in a recent hot dog day, “donate to chew gum day” and the school’s
ongoing penny drive.
