NDP Leader Jack Layton has announced that he has prostate cancer and is undergoing treatment.
Layton, 59, says he is ready for the battle and at this time will not step down as party leader.
"I'm a fighter and I'm going to beat this," said Layton, with wife NDP MP Olivia Chow at his side.
