The investigation into a garage fire at 15 Summit Drive is now in the hands of the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office.

North Bay Firefighters were called out to the Summit Drive fire at 2:46am and arrived on scene to find the garage fully engaged. The garage was completely destroyed and after first inspection Chief Fire Prevention Officer Randy Vezina called in the Ontario Fire Marshal's office to investigate.

“I was called in to help the North Bay Police and fire service to determine cause of fire,” James Gillespie, OFM Fire Investigator tells BayToday.

As for damage Gillespie says it is hard to determine at this point but could be somewhere in the $100,000 mark.

“Well there's two antique cars in the garage, I have no idea what they'd be worth,” he says.

“But the actual garage itself you're probably looking at about $25,000 ... then the contents of the garage, and I don't know what the cars are worth so you'd have to add that.”

Gillespie expects to be done his scene inspection at some point Sunday.

There was no on in the home at the time of the fire.
