Fatal snowmobile accident in Magnetawan

Magnetawan - Police at the Almaguin Highlands OPP detachment are currently investigating a fatal snowmobile collision that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Poverty Bay in the Municipality of Magnetawan on Saturday 23 January 2010.

The collision claimed the life of Jeffrey CARROLL (29) of Vittoria, Ontario, when the snowmobile he was driving struck a tree along the shoreline. CARROLL and several friends had been out snowmobiling on the river prior to the collision.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision.
