Grand Dame of Gateway Theatre Guild passes away

It is with great sadness that BayToday announces that the Grand Dame of the Gateway Theatre Guild Edna Boyer has passed away.
It is with great sadness that BayToday announces that the Grand Dame of the Gateway Theatre Guild Edna Boyer has passed away. Boyer a long time member of the guild, directed and co-directed eleven productions with the Guild over the last four decades.

Boyer was a true visionary when it came to directing live theatre, she made magic by asking the impossible of both her cast and production team and they always delivered never questioning her dream. Noted productions include Steel Magnolias, The Anger in Ernest and Ernstine, The Perfect Party , and Absurd Person Singular.

"The Gateway Theatre Guild sadly mentions the passing of our own loving Edna Boyer on the morning of December 25th," is the message posted on the Guild's FaceBook page.

"We will miss you Edna."

"You will live on forever in the hearts of many and your presence will always be grand on and off the stage."

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
