On the frigid night of December 22, with the tempature hitting - 20 celcius, a black neutered male cat was left abandoned in a carrying kennel just outside of the C Store at Corbeil corners. The cat has been named Noel by Jeanneault and her children.

Even though a towel was left with the cat, it would not have survived the night. Special thanks to Tracy Morowski of Corbeil seeing the cat, it was brought into the store where phone calls began. The North Bay Humane Society directed Tracy to the local animal control officer which is also the owner of All Heart Pet Rescue in Powassan. Even though Kathy Jeanneault is to enforce dog bylaws only, she couldn't leave the cat for dead. Jeanneault has had her rescue organization since 1999 where she rehomes as many as 300 dogs and had been doing aprox 90 cats per year. Her allergies have gotten the better of her and she has stopped taking cats- but the remaining five with her looking for homes are safe until suitable homes can be found.

Jeanneault is excited to tell the public that she has a wonderful reunited relationship with the North Bay Humane Society as it is under new management. They will be taking in Noel and it will be up for adoption after Christmas.
