Ontario and Canada today announced an investment in partnership with Yes Employment Services Inc for expansion and renovations of the existing facilities and combining of the two buildings in order to properly house expanding services. This total investment of $3,000,000 will help to create local jobs in North Bay and supports employment services in the community.

To make the announcement, Monique Smith, MPP for Nipissing joined Gisele Cousineau of Yes Employment Services Inc.

“I am delighted that Yes Employment Services Inc will benefit from this not-for-profit infrastructure funding,” said Monique Smith, MPP for Nipissing. “The governments of Ontario and Canada are working together to modernize infrastructure and strengthen our community’s not-for-profit sector.”

“Yes! Employment Services is extremely excited to receive this funding.  It will allow us to better serve the growing number of people in our community searching for employment or training, while at the same time actually creating employment opportunities in the construction field,” said Gisèle Cousineau, CEO of Yes Employment Services Inc. (Nipissing).

The Governments of Canada and Ontario and Yes Employment Services Inc are each investing one-third of the total project cost. Canada’s funding is part of its new national Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, under Canada’s Economic Action Plan unveiled in January 2009. Ontario’s matching contribution is provided through the 2009 Ontario Budget – Confronting the Challenge: Building Our Economic Future.

Canada and Ontario are working together to create jobs and boost the economy, while making significant investments that help communities improve their infrastructure.
