Barbara McCool to lead NPS Catholic board

At its organizational meeting on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board elected Barbara McCool and Shawn Fitzsimmons as Chair and Vice-Chair respectively.

Barbara McCool has served as Trustee with the Board since 1977, served as Chair of the Board from 1999-2000 and 2002-2004 and has chaired the Special Education Advisory Committee for many years. Shawn Fitzsimmons was first elected to the Board as a Trustee in 2006 and has previously served on the Catholic School Advisory Committees of Mother St. Bride School and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board serves 3400 students in 12 elementary schools across North Bay, West Nipissing, Mattawa, Powassan and Callander and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School in North Bay.
