It is the longest running International Day event in Canada.

Someone will be inducted to the Nipissing District Human Rights Hall of Fame that evening, and the organizing committee is seeking nominations from the public. Nominations may also be submitted to nominate a group or organization for a community service award.

Photos of the hall of fame members are prominently displayed outside the library at Canadore College and Nipissing University.

Hall of Fame members are John Hetherington, Gary Gould, Dr. Ron Common, Marianna Couchie, Kathy Hallett, Sister Jeanne Castonguay, Maurice Switzer, Barbara Minogue, Capt.
