Hedican looking to beat last year's record

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers, with 1,959 pounds of food and sponsored by FDM4 International, have pushed Tom Hedican's Coach4Food total to 11,578 pounds. The Trappers sailed through a high skill practice and brought the 2009 campaign to nearly 6 tons of food.

Coach4Food, where teams are put through NHL and European professional skill drills in return for non-perishable food items, will continue through December, with the final total being announced Dec. 23. With just two weeks left, Hedican's program is trying to beat last year's record of 60,482 pounds for the North Bay Food Bank.

Cash donations can also be made at the TD Bank on Cassells Street.
