Counterfeit currency floating around the community

The North Bay Police Service would like to caution the local businesses in our communities concerning counterfeit currency at this time of the year.

Christmas shopping and the urgency that people have, coupled with the large number of shoppers, sometimes leads a merchant to quickly accept money tendered without checking the bills. Our Service would like to caution these merchants to familiarize themselves with Canadian notes. When in doubt always compare the note with another that you have on hand.
