Fatal MVC closes Highway 11 southbound lanes

East FerrisTownship – North Bay OPP and members of the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) are currently investigating a fatal as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, southbound lanes, approximately 6 km south of Lakeshore Drive. The collision occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. today (Friday, November 27, 2009).

The driver of the vehicle Richard Kenneth TRUCHON of South Shore Rd Astorville was declared deceased at the scene. The female passenger Sharon JANVIER of North Bay was transported to the North Bay hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Truchon’s 2000 Neon was southbound on Hwy # 11 when he lost control of the vehicle, striking a guard rail.

A post mortem examination is to be conducted. Time not yet set.

Traffic was rerouted via Pinewood Park Drive, Callander.
