Meet East Ferris' 2009 Citizen of the Year

On Saturday, November 21st, the Grand Knight of Council 6664 of Corbeil, Michel Champagne, hosted the annual dinner and general meeting. He announced that Mayor Bill Vrebosch had been selected as the East Ferris, “Citizen Of the Year – 2009.”

Mayor Vrebosch, who has served East Ferris since 1977 as the Mayor and Deputy-Mayor, was totally taken by surprise. The announcement is traditionally kept secret until the end of the meeting and the anticipated announcement is usually one of the evening’s highlights.

“All I can say is thank you very much to the 6664 Council who are always ready to accept challenges within our community and who help our community whenever we call on them.”

“ My only regret is that my wife Gisele and family are not here tonight to share this honour with me. As you know, we in politics can’t do this on our own. Family is very important. My family and I are very proud to live in East Ferris, and we are proud to represent our township.”
