North Bay Police Service
News Release

***********************

A couple of days ago, a military police officer was waiting in traffic on Gormanville Rd. at a construction site.

At this time the lead vehicle was not proceeding on the green for two full light cycles. As traffic began to back up, the officer approached the driver who was talking on a cell phone.

When questioned as to why she was still not proceeding on the green, she replied that she couldn’t as she was talking on the cell phone and that you couldn’t do that and drive under the current legislation.

A short education on the law was given to the driver and then traffic resumed.
