The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit announced Friday that the weekend clinics would not be open for the general but due to an escalated demand the clinic would again focus on high risk people only.

Officials do warn that if the number of people waiting for the vaccine is more than can be accommodated during the time available for the clinic, the line may have to be shut down again; however, Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Jim Chirico hopes that with the changes put in place for this weekend’s clinic people will be accommodated.

If you don’t fall into the high risk category and need to wait for the vaccine Dr. Chirico says there are a number of things folks can do to prevent contracting H1N1 number one being washing your hands often and well with warm water and soap, or alcohol based hand-sanitizer,
