Performance Auto & Tire Service owner Siggy Taylor and his general manager Erica Weegar drop by the North Bay Food Bank with a very special delivery Thursday.

The gang from Performance Auto & Tire Service ensured a great number of North Bay Families won't go hungry for the next little while with a generous donation to the North Bay Food Bank today.

General Manager of the business Erica Weegar is no stranger to the food bank as she once relied on their services to get through hard times and because she recently had a windfall she wanted to give back to the organisation.

“I personally had planned to give back to the Food Bank because when I needed them, they were there,” she told BayToday when organising the drop off for Thursday.

“Then my boss (Siggy) offered to personally match my donation, and have the business, Performance Auto and Tire Service also match my donation. Guess I think of it as local girl gives back.”

Weegar a single mother of one said the essence of the donation was to ensure that kids in the community don’t go hungry and her boss Siggy Taylor couldn’t agree more.

For Marty Martinello and the rest of the Food Bank staff the donation is a welcomed surprise in a time when the shelves are empty and services have been taxed to the limit.

The group was able to deliver over $3,000 dollars worth of goods that included trays of vegetables, tomato sauce, soup, juice, soap, personal hygiene items and bread items.
