In celebration of small business week 2009, Discovery North Bay will be hosting a Trade Show and Business After Hours - Thursday, October 22, 2009

Location: Discovery North Bay Museum (Former CPR Station, 100 Ferguson Street)

Time: Thursday October 22nd, 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Details: Celebrate small businesses week in North Bay's historic downtown.

Join us at the Museum for a mini trade show and Business after hours, network with other members, and head over to the Capitol Centre to see Frank O'Dea, co-founder of The Second Cup.

2. Katimavic Open House at Discovery North Bay Museum - Friday October 23rd

Location: Discovery North Bay Museum (Former CPR Station, 100 Ferguson Street) Time: Friday, October 23rd 2009 - 6 to 7pm katimavik.gifKatimavic will be hosting an open house information session for youth at Discovery North Bay Museum on Friday, October 22nd from 6 to 7pm. No RSVP necessary, just show up!

What is Katimavic? Katimavik offers young Canadians an exciting experience that incorporates learning and volunteer involvement. It is Canada's leading national youth volunteer-service program.

3. Wrapping up the Haunted Hike Season.

Only a few haunted hikes left for the 2009 season. The tours depart Discovery North Bay Museum on Friday nights until Hallowe'en. There is a special Hallowe'en night tour, call to make reservations!

Haunted Hikes bring North Bay's haunted history will come alive, as tour-goers experience some of North Bay's shady, or just plain scary past.

Those brave enough to join the tour will explore North Bay's historic downtown, sharing spine-tingling stories of lost love and untimely death, and will see some of North Bay's creepiest locations behind-the-scenes.

Ghost-hunters will hear some of the Station's creepiest stories before sharing a few of their own, and will then carry on for their lamp-lit tour of the downtown, including the historic Royal Theatre. Tickets can be purchased for six dollars in advance or at the time of the tour. Space is limited, and reservations are strongly recommended. The tour is not recommended for those under twelve years of age.

4. Kidz Day: Haunted Museum - Saturday October 31st

Attention Ghouls and Boys!

Come haunt the museum with us at Discovery North Bay this Halloween. Visit the Mad Scientist's dungeon laboratory and there will be games, a craft, and a visit through the museum. Children are welcome to come in costume. All activities are staff supervised. Don't miss out on this devilishly good
time!

Date: Saturday October 31st

Time: 11:00 am to 12:00 noon

Location: Discovery North Bay Museum, 100 Ferguson Street.

Details: Children age 5-12 are invited to participate.

Cost: FREE with the price of admission ($6.30)
