Area engineering technician recognised for innovation

The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists honored individuals, organizations and volunteers for their outstanding contributions to the profession at the recent (Oct. 2) Awards Gala held at the Eglinton Grand in Toronto.

This is an annual black tie event recognizing excellence in engineering and applied science technology.

Among those being recognized was Tom Palangio, President of WipWare Inc. for the development and implementation of image analysis techniques in granulometry and process control. Palangio and his company pioneered many of the techniques being used throughout the world today to optimize production, automate process control and reduce energy consumption.
