Nipissing University
News Release

**********************

Nipissing University is bringing political cinema to North Bay. The university has now started its own chapter of Cinema Politica, a grassroots network that distributes and
exhibits political cinema at campuses and communities across Canada and internationally.

Nipissing University Cinema Politica aims to foster awareness and generate discussion around important social and political issues.

Everyone is welcome to attend the screenings. Admission is free, though a donation is kindly appreciated.

Cinema Politica is a Montreal-based media arts, non-profit network of community and campus locals that screen independent political film and video by Canadian and international artists throughout Canada and abroad. The group programs works that challenge conventional fiction and documentary narratives, as well as films that explore under-represented stories and characters.

Cinema Politica is committed to supporting alternative, independent, and radical political film and video and the artists who dare to devote time, passion and resources to telling stories from the margins.
