North Bay Police Chief Paul Cook and Mayor Victor Fedeli were sporting their best pink to help kick off Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure 'Think Pink Week' Monday.

Folks were seeing pink at the corner of Oak and Fraser Streets this morning as community leaders, Warriors of Hope, and the staff at CIBC in North Bay helped kick off the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure 'Think Pink Week'.

CIBC officials say 'Think Pink Week' is dedicated to raising awareness for Breast Cancer research and is happening in all CIBC Branches across Canada including the North Bay branches.

With one Warriors of Hope Team member (Betty) not doing well fellow team member Sylvia Gray says this year's event is taking on a special note for her.

“We are running for her,” she tells the gathering.

“We thank you for your support. Please continue, please bring other people out if everyone who was running could manage to find one more person to raise money and run we'd have more success.”

The 5th Annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, on Sunday, October 4, is the largest annual fundraising event for breast cancer research and awareness.
