The fire hazard will rise to moderate and high hazard across the East Fire Region, August 13.

A total of 170 fire personnel will be returning to Ontario from British Columbia on Thursday, including FireRanger crews, support staff, Agency Representatives and an information officer.

The same day, 126 fire personnel will be deployed to British Columbia including FireRanger Crews, Agency Representatives, a support person and an information officer.

Regionally, this includes 65 personnel leaving out of Sudbury on the evening of August 13 including 15 (four-member) FireRanger crews, three Agency Representatives, a clerk and an information officer from the East Fire Region.

On August 14, a 20-member Incident Management Team and an Agency Representative are also scheduled to return to Ontario.

As a reminder, brush and grass fires are to be started no sooner than two hours before sunset and put out no later than two hours after sunrise. Outdoor fires must be attended at all times and put dead out before leaving the site. For further information check out the safe outdoor fire management guidelines at Ontario.ca/fireprevention.
