Mini Train and Carousel not running this weekend Reminder

As the Civic Long Weekend approaches motorists are reminded that Memorial Drive is closed as of 8am Thursday morning until Tuesday morning at 8 am. The Kate Pace Way is also closed.

The Mini Train and Carousel will also be closed from Friday morning until Monday night. Officials say based on the dismal turn out last year because people needed a wrist band to enter the grounds for North Rocks the Bay, which applies again this year, it's not worth their while to run the operation. Traditionally the Civic long weekend was the biggest revenue generator for the volunteer run organisation. Last year the group took in just $1,100 a sharp decrease to their average of $4,000 to $5,000 on a regular weekend.
