Third dispatch of firefighters on their way to BC

Two Incident Command Teams (ICT) one each from East Fire and West Fire Region comprised of 19 members each are scheduled to depart for British Columbia on Wednesday, July 29. An ICT provides leadership and management on large fire incidents. A Provincial Lead Agency Representative will also accompany the teams to help British Columbia in the coordination of Ontario resources.

This is the third dispatch within a week from Ontario to BC. On July 23, 122 fire personnel were sent followed by 172 on July 26 for a total of 294 Ontario FireRangers and support staff. The third dispatch will bring that total 333.

Within Ontario, there have been no new fires reported in the East Fire Region within the last 24 hours. There are no active fires in the region. Please visit http://forest.lrc.gov.on.ca/AFFM/fire/interactivemap/firemap_English.htm to view the active fires map.
