City woman arrested in relation to death of a child

On the 8th of Sept. of 2008 an investigation was commenced in relation to the death of a child within the city of North Bay. These circumstances involved the death of a 10 month old male child within a North Bay home.

With the assistance of the Centre of Forensic Sciences, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Deaths Under Five Review Committee, it has been determined that the cause of death was consistent with drowning.

Jennifer CARMICHAEL 23 years old of Judge Av. is charged with Criminal Negligence Causing Death and Child Abandonment Endangering life under the Criminal code of Canada.

She is to attend court at a later date.
