Students offered opportunity to beat the rush

Beat the Rush at Canadore College (Commerce Court Campus) this Friday! New Canadore College students and their parents will have an opportunity to become engaged with the College and the City of North Bay. The event provides students with information, an opportunity to meet the team at the College and provides access to the tools that they need to be well-prepared for their academic studies in the fall.

Beat the Rush includes activities that are geared to student success. Hands-on seminars such as postsecondary budgeting techniques, a workshop on information technology, and a student-led panel are coupled with an orientation to college services. Parents have the opportunity to learn more about their children's education by attending the day and spending time with the people who will be teaching, mentoring and supporting their students.

Emily Miller, Beat the Rush coordinator says, "Our main goal for Beat the Rush is to help make the transition to Canadore College as comfortable as possible for all students and their families. The event is designed to support students by highlighting the different services that are available to them. I have no doubt that everyone involved will leave here feeling more at ease and excited about starting at Canadore in September."
