OPP charge a few people with impaired over the weekend

PARRY SOUND – On the 19th of June 2009, the West Parry Sound OPP was notified of a traffic complaint on Hwy 124 near Parry Sound ON. The information received indicated that a vehicle was observed driving all over the roadway. Police responded and as a result charged 49-yr-old Douglas MCGAHEY with impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs. He will be appearing in court on July 16, 2009 to answer to the charges.

On the 20th of June 2009 the West Parry Sound OPP were dispatched to a threats incident that took place at a camp fire in the area of McKellar Township. The report indicated that a male subject had been involved in an altercation with another male at the camp site then left the scene. A police investigation began which later led to the arrest of 44-yr-old John CUFFE of Carling Township. He was charged with impaired driving, drive over 80 mgs, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, utter threats and breach of probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today.

On the 20th of June 2009, the West Parry Sound OPP received two complaints of a motor vehicle that was observed to be driving all over the roadway in the area of George Hunter Memorial Drive in McDougall Township. Police responded and attended that location. As a result, police arrested 44-yr-old Mark JENSEN of Bracebridge ON. He was charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs. He will be appearing in court on the 16th of July 2009 to answer to the charges.
