Building on the belief that access to technology is crucial to the economic and cultural success of Northern Ontario, Blue Sky Net, a division of Blue Sky Economic Growth Corporation, and the Blue Sky Libraries are offering a summer of fun and learning for everyone from kids to seniors!

Participants in Mattawa, Bonfield, East Ferris, Temagami, Nipissing First Nation, West Nipissing, Callander and Powassan will be able to enroll in a number of different computer education workshops that will have them “computing” and “twittering” in no time.

The workshops which will be offered from the beginning of July until the end of August, at the library locations in each community, will be delivered by licensed Ontario educators. Course outlines are available at each participating library so that participants can choose topics most suited to their interests and needs.

According to Blue Sky Net, General Manager, Susan Church, “through the operational support provided by FedNor we are able to offer these relevant workshops to new computer users and to everyone who just wants to be more comfortable with technology”.

These workshops are part of a number of initiatives that are planned by Blue Sky Net to follow up the implementation of the High Speed Broadband Network that Blue Sky Net has been facilitating the build of, over the last number of years in the Blue Sky region.

Registration has begun at the participating libraries and a nominal fee of $2.00 will be charged for course materials.
