North Bay Blooms with the help of Canada Post and over 70 Canada Post letter carriers, are pleased to announce that nominations for "Best Front Yard Garden in North Bay for 2009" are now open. Over the next few weeks Canada Post mail carriers will be enjoying and nominating the front yard gardens of many of the residents of North Bay. Last year over 118 gardens were nominated.

With the help of Geri Openshaw and the North Bay
Horticultural Society all of the Canada Post nominations will then be given a preliminary judging with the top ten finalists to be announced July 16.

A bus tour, picking up at Gloria Gardens, Cassellholme, Empire Living and Marina Point will make a morning tour of the final gardens on Saturday, July 18 and then North Bay Master Gardeners will help make the final selections for the top four front yard gardens. Gift certificates from Laporte's Garden Center, Burrow's Country Garden Center and L'Ami's Garden Center will be awarded to the top four winners.

With the help of the North Bay and District Chamber of
Commerce and Cogeco, North Bay Blooms will also be recognizing "Best Business Gardens" each Friday, for eight weeks, starting July 3. If you know of a business garden worth recognizing and appreciating please contact Patti Carr at the Chamber office.

Weekly Wednesday Night Clean Ups have also been going well
for North Bay Blooms with nine different groups participating this year in litter pick ups in a number of locations around town. If you or your group would like to get involved with a Wednesday Night Clean Up please contact Clean Up Chair Judy Koziol 476 8769.
