Sunday forest fire update

There have been no new fires reported in the East Fire Region for June 14.

However three new fires were reported on June 13. Cochrane 3 and 4 were both 0.1 hectares in size, no problems were encountered and both fires have been called out. Parry Sound 12, reported later in the day, was 0.1 hectares in size, and has been called out.

The forest fire hazard is currently low for the majority of the region. There is a band of moderate fire hazard across the Pembroke area, as well as an area of moderate across the far north. The forecasted fire hazard for June 15 is low to moderate throughout the region, with a band of high hazard across the far north.

Always make sure you follow safe burning guidelines as set out under the Forest Fires Prevention Act and if you live within a municipality, please contact your local municipal office or fire department BEFORE burning.
