One new fire reported in the East Fire Region

There has been one new fire reported in the East Fire Region. Cochrane 2 is 0.3 hectares in size and is under control. No issues anticipated with this fire.

On Friday, June 12, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources deployed a crew of 20 FireRangers and three related personnel from the East Fire Region to British Columbia to assist with the fire situation.

The East Fire Region has a low forest fire hazard with pockets of moderate hazard.

Always make sure you follow safe burning guidelines as set out under the Forest Fires Prevention Act and if you live within a municipality, please contact your local municipal office or fire department BEFORE burning.
