Police seek help with vandalism case

Mattawa OPP is seeking the assistance of anyone who may have witnessed vandalism to six motor vehicles in the town of Mattawa sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 6th, 2009.

Vandals damaged six motor vehicles that were parked on Tenth, Eleventh and Bisset Streets. Each of these vehicles had one or both of their rear tires slashed by what appeared to be a small knife.

Police also responded to a Break, Enter and Theft on Bissett Street at approximately 3:15 a.m. when an elderly woman woke up and discovered a person leaving her bedroom. The thief made off with her purse after having rummaged through her dresser drawers.

Further patrolling of the area, police noted that boats had been untied from their docks and clay pots had been smashed.
