Two dead and a third person airlifted from Hwy 11 collision

Temagami - Temiskaming O.P.P. are investigating a motor vehicle collision involving two motor vehicles that has occurred on Hwy 11 just north of the Lake Temagami Access Road at approximately 2:03 p.m. on June 2, 2009. Two persons have been pronounced dead at the scene and a third person was air lifted out to the hospital for treatment. The vehicles are registered from Kirkland Lake and Timmins. Names of the persons involved in the motor vehicle collision are being with held until the next of kin are notified.

Highway 11, north and south bound lanes are closed at this time as the cause of the motor vehicle collision is under investigation. The Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is on the scene. Further information will be available at a later time.
