Hey Wildcats … there’s still time to roar on the golf course

What started out as a few Widdifield S.S. alumni getting together for a round of golf after a chance meeting on the internet social page Classmates.com has turned into a full-fledged reunion from Friday, July 31st to Sunday August 2nd, 2009.
What started out as a few Widdifield S.S. alumni getting together for a round of golf after a chance meeting on the internet social page Classmates.com has turned into a full-fledged reunion from Friday, July 31st to Sunday August 2nd, 2009.

While the reunion is a social alumni event not hosted by Widdifield SS or the Near North District School Board, arrangements have been made for folks to take a stroll down memory lane with a number of retired faculty members at the school on Ski Club Friday between 4 and 6 pm.

Highlight of the event is the Blue Sky Financial golf tournament and with a limit of 244 participants spaces are going fast. Organiser Dee Neveaux remind those interested in the tournament that registration is required and the cut off date is June 30th.

"We have just acquired a $10,000 hole in one sponsor with Blue Sky Financial which has precipitated us extending our registrations for the golf tournament until June 30th," notes Neveaux.

Other featured events include a wine and cheese at the Davedi Club Friday night with featured entertainment by Bob Wills and Widdifield Station and North Bay’s favourite comedian Derek Forgie aka ‘Skwirl’ as Emcee, the golf Saturday morning with a BBQ to follow at Osprey Links, Saturday night people can take in Summer in the Park, and a Sunday morning pancake breakfast back at the Davedi Club.
