The North Bay Regional Science Fair committee is thrilled to send four promising projects to the 2009 Canada-Wide Science Fair, to be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 9 through 17. The students are busy polishing their presentations in preparation for scrutiny by some of the 230 judges in the six categories of Biotechnology, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences at this national event. Numerous medals, scholarships, bursaries and cash awards are available to successful competitors.

The four outstanding projects are:
Aaliya Waja and Shelby Wallace of Widdifield with their project “Hands on the Wheel,” Zahra Merali of West Ferris with her project “Rx Neuropathy,” Bernadette Weaver of Land of Lakes with her project “Fact or Foamy,” and; Rachel Holloway of West Ferris with her project “Fish out of Water.”

For anyone who would like to see them off, or greet them on their return, departure from the Jack Garland Airport is at 9:00 a.m. on May 9 and return at 3:14 pm on May 17.
The North Bay Regional Science Fair Committee wish our representatives every success in this year's competition.
