Car chase ends in crash

On the 5th of May during the afternoon hours a 911 call to the North Bay Police dispatcher advised them of an erratic driver entering the city of North Bay.

A police check of the licence plate showed that the erratic vehicle was in fact stolen from Toronto.

Officers waited in the area of the city where the vehicle was last seen and was eventually spotted by Cst. Mark McLeod of our Service.

The vehicle was followed and at this point the lone male driver of the stolen vehicle refused to pull over. The vehicle was followed through the city and eventually crashed into a home on Four Mile Lake Rd.

The driver was brought to the North Bay Hospital for examination and was released without injury.

The Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Investigation Unit attended the scene to assist in the investigation.

James STURGE 32 years old of No Fixed Address is charged with Possession of Stolen property, Dangerous Driving and Flight From Police.

He remains in custody for a bail hearing.
