City kicks off Arbour Week celebrations

Officials with the City of North Bay Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department, North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority, Nipissing Botanical Gardens, the Greater Nipissing Stewardship Council, and North Bay Blooms braved the cold windy weather today for a ceremonial tree planting at Sunset Park to celebrate Arbour Week.

Each of the above organizations not only took time to address the importance of reforestation in and around the city but also took a moment to outline their respective tree plantings initiatives for 2009.
