NORTH BAY - The Ministry of Transportation wishes to advise that Highway 64 remains closed to traffic approximately 0.5 km south of Crystal Falls Road due to a washout.
Over 100 metres of the roadway was washed out by spring runoff and heavy rain last Saturday. Work is ongoing to replace the culvert and rebuild the highway, however, high water levels are impacting progress.
The ministry expects the highway to reopen by Saturday, April 11th.
Motorists can take Highway 64 to 575 as an alternate route. However, spring half load restrictions are currently in place on Highway 575. Commercial vehicles should take Highway 11 south to 17 west.
