The students of M. Rivard's grade 5/6 late Immersion class from White Woods Public School took advantage of a unique educational experience. They took a field trip to the North Bay Fur Harvester's Auction on April 3rd.

The students were treated to a Wildlife seminar by Greg Balch of London, Ontario. Where they explored booths and displays relating to Wildlife and Fur harvesting.

Not only did the students watch trappers doing the work of their craft, but they also built bird feeders and were given samples of various furs. (pictured are Kya Rastel and Elizabeth Morin with bird feeders.)

The students enjoyed the excursion and developed an appreciation of an element of our local heritage.
