Annual fire education conference a sell out

The 11th Annual Northeastern Fire Education Conference is being held in North Bay March 26-29 at the Clarion Pinewood Park Inn.

Again this year, the Conference is a sell out with 412 delegates representing Senior Fire Officers, Firefighters, and Municipal Officials from 138 Northeastern Ontario communities.

Gordon Routley, who led the panel investigating the Sofa Super Store fire in Charleston and has authored many other important reports for the fire service and Alan Brunacini who wrote the Bible on Fire Command and Customer Service for the fire service are just two of the high profile speakers that contribute to the Conference success. Topics covered during the weekend include, Command Safety, Discover Your Communication Style, Personal Protective Equipment Standards, Sunrise Propane Explosion as well as vast networking opportunities.

Another important part of the conference is the Trade Show that takes place from Thursday night to Saturday at noon. This year there are 87 supplier representatives’ registered.

The Official Opening Ceremonies take place, Friday, March 27th at 08:30, followed by an informative presentation by Ontario Fire Marshal Patrick Burke from 09:00 to 09:45. The media is invited to attend the Opening Ceremonies as well as an opportunity to interact with Fire Marshal Burke following his presentation.
