Four local restaurants are getting into the spirit of this year's ‘Earth Hour’ by hosting an evening of candle light dining at each or their establishments.

Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wildlife Fund Canada which encourages Canadians to join people around the world at 8:30pm on Saturday March 28th and turn off their lights for one hour to show that it is possible to take action on climate change.

Everyone has the opportunity to support Earth Hour which promotes to use a little less hydro and enjoy some great dining around town. Average Joe's, Urban Café and Mexicali Rosa's have all arranged a three course meal for $25 plus tax, while Jack Tennant's Steak House will offer a three course meal for $35.00 plus tax.

“It’s more than just a romantic evening and an opportunity to enjoy some great food,” says North Bay Million Acts of Green member Chris Mayne.

“The Earth Hour evening offers everyone an opportunity to use a little less electricity at home and share a pleasant evening with friends in recognition of Earth Hour.”

Reservations are recommended at each of four participating restaurants. For further information please contact North Bay Million Acts of Green at 474 1536 or [email protected]."
