A 30-year-old male is now under arrest and being held for a bail hearing this morning, charged with Assault, Sexual Assault, Assault with a Weapon, 2 Counts of Threatening Death and Forcible Confinement.

D/Cst. Jody deHaas of the North Bay Police Investigative Support Services reports that this male had arrived at a 29-year-old female’s residence, March 11, 2009, in an intoxicated condition. It is alleged the male forcibly confined the victim, who was known to him from a domestic relationship, assaulted her and threatened her with death, before departing the residence. Attempts had been made to locate him and warrants for his arrest had been issued.

Cst. Darcy Wall arrested the suspect in the 100 block of Main Street East, yesterday (Sunday) at 6:30 pm.
