Parents play a critical role in their child’s education. The Near North District School Board, in partnership with its Parent Involvement Committee, invites parents in the Near North community to explore the exemplary programs offered in our elementary and secondary schools. This will also be an opportunity to see what the Near North District School Board is moving forward in the area of innovative technological education.

The Parents as Partners in Education session takes place in North Bay at West Ferris Secondary School on Saturday, February 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m and a light lunch will be provided. Childcare is available at both sessions.

These sessions are an opportunity for parents to come out on a Saturday morning to enjoy interesting workshops, student performances, lunch and a chance to meet other parents. Workshop topics include Making Math Exciting, Understanding Bullying, Healthy Active Children, the Transition Years, Literacy and Numeracy and, ‘Smartboard’ and Other Technologies.

Parents of students in every grade are encouraged to attend. Registration forms are available online at www.nearnorthschools.ca or at any Near North school.
