IROQUOIS FALLS – The South Porcupine OPP Crime Unit, working in conjunction with the OPP’s Criminal investigations Branch has arrested and charged a 26 year old Timmins woman stemming from a fatal fire which occurred in Iroquois Falls in October of 2007.

Miranda BRISSON, 26, formerly of Iroquois Falls was arrested yesterday and has been charged with Manslaughter and Criminal Negligence Causing Death contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to a fatal house fire which resulted in the death of Richard DUMOUCHEL of Iroquois Falls. DUMOUCHEL was 21 when he perished in a house fire at 231 Devonshire Street in Iroquois Falls on October 8th, 2007.

A concurrent investigation has resulted in additional charges of Public Mischief and Fabricating Evidence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada being laid against BRISSON.

These additional charges stem from a separate set of circumstances unrelated to the fatal house fire.

BRISSON is currently in OPP custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for this morning, January 23rd, 2008 at Provincial Court in Timmins.
