Minister Clement stops by for a good news announcement

Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for FedNor Tony Clement paid a visit to the Bay Friday morning to make several good news and funding announcements for the area and to launch a new publication.

Clement announced funding for five projects in the area including $45,000 for North Bay to update the community’s commercial development strategy, a study that helps to identify what new business opportunities the city could realise in the immediate future to continue to foster commercial growth.

Clement noted that the five new project announcements for the Nipissing-Timiskaming region demonstrates his government’s continued commitment and support to the growth and prosperity of communities and small businesses in Northern Ontario through investments in business development, innovation, youth initiatives and community economic development.

“This investment in the Nipissing-Timiskaming region helps diversify and strengthen the local economy and create jobs,” stated Minister Clement.

The new publication ‘Northern Spirit – Partners in Success,’ is a publication that highlights a number of the successful projects FedNor has backed that have been instrumental in strengthening Northern Ontario, and making the region a better place to live, work, play and visit.
