Blowing snow warning

As of 6:47 p.m. EST Sunday 21 December 2008, Environment Canada issued the following blowing snow warning for the North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa.

Blowing snow with poor visibilities continuing into tonight.

Blowing snow..A low pressure system currently located east of Georgian Bay will track east towards the Ottawa River. Strong northeasterly winds whipping up the falling snow are creating very poor visibilities. Conditions are expected to improve overnight.

Wind chill..Very cold air has settled over the regions with temperatures dropping to near minus 30 tonight. As winds increase to 15 km/h wind chill values will reach minus 40 to minus 45.
