Habitat for Humanity North Bay & Blue Sky Region is pleased to announce the title transfer of our first home at 620 First Ave East North Bay into the ownership of Terry and Chrystal Erny and their family.

The family’s interest-free mortgage payments on the home will become part of a “Fund for Humanity” used to build more homes in partnership with more low-income families. The need is great for affordable housing for qualifying families to give them a place in our community to build their hopes, dreams, and raise their children.

Construction of this house began with the purchase of the property and the installation of city water and sewer services in the fall of 2007. Many hardworking volunteers worked through the spring, summer and into the fall, under the supervision of skilled crew chiefs and trades. Their faithful service in a job well done built this beautiful new home. On October 26, 2008 the “Ellen House” was dedicated to God and the Erny family by their Minister, Rev. Kathleen McCallum. Among those attending the public dedication were Mayor Vic Fedeli, MPP Monique Smith, and MP Anthony Rota, as well as many volunteers and generous contributors who donated their time, skills, building materials and financial support to this Build. The transfer of title to the Erny family is an exciting event as this home represents the first of many homes that our Affiliate will build over many years to come.
