OTTAWA - The public warning issued on December 5, 2008 has
been updated to include additional information.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Verger Duhaime Inc. are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume Duhaime Chocolaté brand spreads. The affected products may contain milk which is not declared on the label.

The affected products, described below, are sold in 150 ml jars. All lots are being recalled.

Banana and Bourbon Vanilla

Black Tea and Vanilla Bourbon

Cranberry and Lemon

Fig and Port

Lychee, Ginger and Lemon

Pear and Dark Rum

Red Pepper, Honey and Paprika

Santos Bourbon Coffee

These products have been distributed in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick but may have been distributed nationally.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.

The manufacturer, Verger Duhaime Inc., St-Germain, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
