Listeria Alert is not related to Galbani products

Milan – In relation to the health hazard alert issued yesterday by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) stating that Santa Lucia Brand Ricotta Cheese may be contaminated with Listeria, Galbani hereby informs that Santa Lucia Brand Ricotta Cheese is not a product made by Galbani. Galbani products are absolutely safe.

The product mentioned in the health hazard alert issued by the Canadian authority is not connected to Galbani nor related to Galbani products.

Long ago Galbani started legal actions against the Canadian producer to protect its brand and its products from evident, unscrupulous attempts, which borders upon counterfeiting, to imitate its products.

The ricotta cheese in question is made and marketed in Canada by the Toronto-based international company International Cheese Co. Ltd which Galbani has long been fighting in the competent venues in Canada to prevent it from using the brand Santa Lucia which is the property of Galbani, unfortunately without success so far.

New actions started by Galbani last year are still under review by Canadian authorities.
