Significant snowfall tonight.

A low pressure area is forecast to develop over the Great Lakes ahead of a cold front. Snow is occurring across a wide swath of central and northeastern Ontario. It will continue tonight and give 15 to locally 20 centimetres of snow to the North Bay region by Thursday morning. As of 6 PM North Bay has reported 5 centimetres. It will gradually taper off Thursday morning to a few flurries.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution due to accumulating snow and reduced visibilities in drifting and local blowing snow.

The bulk of the snow will fall this afternoon and tonight. There may also be reduced visibilities to near zero overnight due to drifting and blowing snow into Thursday morning due to gusty northerly or northwesterly winds.

The warning is also issued for West Nipissing - French River
